Ideas for flexible working.

I only work a few hours a week at my sons primary school. I am looking for something that i can work around school hours. I know these jobs are like gold dust. I have seen all these work from home sales jobs and i am nervous of the enthusiasm of those advertising them, they sound to good to be true. Delivery jobs involve a lot of costs fuel etc. I am happy to volunteer with a view to gaining some skills or experience. I am looking at online courses too. It such difficult times with so many people worried for their jobs so am i looking for something impossible to find. If anyone can share their success or any hints or tips. Thanks

Not impossible, but you may need to consider things you've not thought of before and can do in a way which won't appreciably increase the health risks. Dog walking (may need a licence from your local authority and/or insurance) and cleaning (where the householder supplies all the cleaning materials) are two very flexible options and often pay well, too.

Do not join a multi level marketing ‘business’ whatever you do. You won’t make money, in fact you’ll lose money. (So younique, body shop, Ann summers, and a thousand others)
  • A friend of mine is a escort for special needs children who take taxis to and from school

Most need people who can do the school run AM/PM but she has a five day a week job escorting just one child one way. Because its just a few hours, taxi firms find them difficult to fill. It may be worth looking into?  Because they are special needs, their school day may not be as many hours as your sons. My friend starts at 2pm and finished at 3;30 pm. Every child is individual so its worth a look at
  • thank you for the replies. I have found a job at another school with more hours which I am going to take. I have enrolled with the skills network courses and going to try and do some of their child related courses. Then i might be more suited to some other jobs working with children. I will keep looking for any temporary jobs that might be coming up for christmas.

This is bad advice and quite simply not true, I have made good money from Utility Warehouse and also make nearly £500 pcm from another MLM and I expect to get this to £1k a month.
Many people make good money from MLM including Avon, the reason that many people fail at MLM is either that they pick the wrong product or they are not suited to it. To tell people to avoid it full stop is very bad advice from someone I assume has for whatever reason has not had a good experience of it.

I would agree with that as I think people sign up for them thinking it’s easy money and in reality it’s hard work.

I think if you’ve got a good work ethic and are prepared to work hard you can probably make a decent living from it.

I don’t disagree but that does not mean all people fail and that you will lose money hence bad advice was given. MLM is not easy money it’s hard work and it needs commitment and it’s not for everyone, but then most jobs only suit some people I have done a few years of door work and I would guess that a higher percentage of people could make money from MLM than could work on a difficult door. It annoys me when people have failed A5 something or believe what they read and think that this would be the right advice to give others.
  • I currently work for an MLM company and I have to say I’m doing well. Only been with them six weeks. The only advise I can give is not all MLM’s are like that. I’ve work for three different ones and I have to say the one I’m with now is great. I’m slowly turning this into my main income xx
