    I was advised to ignore email with p45 as I was transfered to Division B as it states above. 
  • Advised by who?  I suggest you ask to look at your own HR file (unless you are the superbly organised kind of person who keeps copies of all the memos you have been sent over the years).  Have a look at what you were sent when you started the new job - if the company used the word 'transfer' then it seems an open and shut case, to me - employment should be continuous from the original start date.  If not, with a P45, I think you might have a fight on your hands.  Good luck with it - it's not at all a lost cause!

  • PS Take copies of anything relevant in your HR file, of course.  Even if this means just taking photos on your phone.

    I was advised by the same person from HR who sent me p45. 
  • Start with the assumption you have continuity of employment let them argue the case you don't. 

    Redundancy is based on termination date or later if you don't work at least the statutory notice period.

    This is obvious for me. I will be stand for my continuity of employment is 7 years and we will see their reaction.
    Anyway thank you for your help and info where I could check few things.
