This is an “over the garden
fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a
little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start
each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or
what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put
your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!)
and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Morning all! I am up early for the great build to begin and to cook food ready for after and to clean the downstairs toilet. The magic cupboard is doing it's thing at the moment and there are some onions cooking in the beef stock from the slow cooker beef yesterday. I also made some pizza bread for snacking yesterday, just used some plain flour with added baking powder, not bread flour and some yeast, and a packet of those sun dried tomatoes with mozzarella with an added layer of pesto on the bottom, tried it last night, by golly it's good, I'll definitely make that again. That's for day snacking, and then we'll have the beef with mutard mash after. I might make that now and just reheat, it seems to do ok just being reheated in the saucepan. Here's hoping I don't nail my fingers to the wood or slice off a finger....Have a great day all!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

Morning all and thank you for starting taff.
The sun is shining but it is not warm, swizz. Still, not as cold as yesterday.
I am going to cut the grass later, rake leaves again, might turn the compost. But not until I have warm clothes on, am wearing an extra layer now.
Hope everyone has a good day.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back10 -
Morning all, thanks taff for starting today off. Take care on the big build, don't want blood all over itI was up earlyish but I have been looking on t'internet for more Barbie clothes ideas. I might try some ideas out later this afternoon.I need to dust and hoover the downstairs today and clean the kitchen too as the mop lady (Nelski) didn't arrive yesterday. Seems she's in lockdown....... or locked upTea last night was salmon in lemon and pepper sauce with a jacket potato and chicken for himself. Not sure I'd have that salmon again, it was Ok and a large portion, but would have plain salmon if given the choice, the sauce was overpowering. On the menu today is a buttered chicken curry, not as inventive as my chef would do but he's still on the sick
I'll cook some rice and have a naan with it too. I'm going to make a bread and butter pudding for afters with the last of my loaf.
Have a good Sunday everyone.Take care all, stay safe and well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Morning folks and thanks for starting us off TAFF. It feels less cold than yesterday morning, unless I am now getting acclimatised to the season change!
I've been a busy bee this morning. Magic cupboard emptied (cba last night!), litter tray changed, waste bin emptied and birdies fed. Then thought I may as well prep the veg for lunch. I am doing a chicken breast joint so did enough veg to warm up tomorrow with some of the leftover chicken.
I ended up getting voile for the bathroom window so that's earmarked for sorting out and hanging today. I am hoping I will be able to reach to put up the pole from the smaller steps. It'll save lugging the standsteps in from the depths of the garage then up the stairs.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care and stay safe x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all
Brrr cold here and I have put a fleece on and thick socks this morning the weather has certainly taken a turn, OH said to me yesterday that it must be cold as I had shut the kitchen windows they are normally open till its dark, the fire will be lit again tonight its just so cosy.
I did not have a good sleep last night and am feeling a bit jaded so will have a nana nap later in front of the fire, I have got some chicken out for dinner tonight so may do a curry or some kind of lemon and garlic sauce will see how we feel later. I got a bit of beef out for tomorrows dinner and that is defrosting its a fairly small bit but I hope it will do two days.
I have stripped the beds and they are doing a dance in the wm, its very windy so they can go on the line today, the dw will be put on this morning and the kitchen will need a quick going over, and that will do for today !!
I might forgo the dog walk today and let OH and dd take them and just have a pottering day.
Taff you go careful today, no bleeding on the job please ! xx
Have good days all xx

Er well you see its like this nanny....the day ran away with me dealing with mum issues ....nothing urgent just an unnecessary panic over a bill from the tax. A whole £90. Anyway sorted now so the bailiffs won't be turning up! Anyway the the consequence was the mop never saw the light of day. Maybe today if butter chicken is on offer
Had a whopping sleep for me last night but it was intermingled with lots of horrible dreams. The sausage casserole was a success so Ill have a portion later then freeze a couple.
Fancying a real lazy day (bar nanny's floors of course) maybe some netflix and snacks
Taff BE CAREFUL
Have a good day all

Nels you are forgiven, hugs for dealing with Mum's tax bill. I may have to do Dad's council tax bill sometime soon because he begrudges paying £2.50 for a phone call via BT
Parents eh ! Fire up the charabanc and make it an open top one too

Morning all
Temperature @ 2c this morning......very sunny so doesn't feel so cold.
OH cooking brunch at present.....would love something simple like an egg sandwich but he has been too long in the kitchen for anything simple! While OH is missing I am watching the Great British Bake Off , he hates it so we never watch it in real time.
Huge brunch consumed......or most of it, OH and Mossy are going for a walk and imam going to veg out.
Have a good day everybody and stay safeWeight 08 February 86kg8 -
Hi everyone
Just had a very nice fishfinger sandwich. Once I've written this I'm going to cut the grass as it's sunny and not too cold today. and the wind has gone too. I'm going to do it straightaway because if I do anything else first, it won't get done.
Have a Tesco shop coming between 3 and 4pm.....filling freezers and cupboards up again just in case there's another lockdown as it was so difficult to get a delivery slot last time. Other than that I'll be reading my Sunday Times or my book.
Hope you all have a good day7
