Penhaligon perfume

I'm looking for some feedback on Penhaligon, I really fancy treating myself to one despite never smelling one.
The nearest shop is about an hour away and given the current situation I'm not really sure on about going to the shops just to browse.
But if feedback is positive I'd be inclined to include go and combine with Christmas shopping.
Typically if I'm buying perfume for myself it's an old Caroline Herrera as it's only £20
If my Husband is paying then it'll be a Prada perfume I'll pick.
I rarely spend money on myself and its usually because I dither about treating myself
TIA

It is of course very subjective, lots of people rave about Jo Malone perfumes I'm indifferent about the scents but I can appreciate it's a higher quality perfume than others.

I wouldn't bother until coronavirus is out of the way. You won't be able to go anywhere of note so why not just save your money for now?
There was a time when I was out with a friend and she said "oh, I really love your perfume, what is it?" I had to tell her I wasn't wearing any - so I'm still not sure if it was just my shampoo/conditioner or deodorant she was fooled by. I mean, that made me wonder if it was worth spending money on perfume anyway, if I could smell good without. My favourites are Chanel No.5 (which someone I worked with said was just for old women)(!!) and Obsession by Calvin Klein.
Another problem with perfume I've found is that if you go out with another couple, or if you go out with another woman, your perfumes can (and often do) clash something awful! Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. I always get positive comments on CK Be, Molecule 01 and either Tom Ford's Black Orchid or Ombre Leather.
I personally wouldn't buy any perfume (irrespective of cost) without trying it first, and leaving it on for a few hours to see how it lasts / develops.1 -
@MalMonroeBecause I've spent I've spent the last 6 months saving, I have some fun money set aside and I want to treat myself, options at this time are of course limited and no I'm not going anywhere remotely exciting for the foreseeable, I'd just like something nice.
I've always walked past Penhaligon's wistfully, I've no idea why I've just always been drawn to the shop, and as many London shops I just walked by because they looked expensive. I can now afford some higher end treats.
But I know absolutely no one that's ever had one of their fragrances, so was hoping for someones views on them.
I was out from a man with work, who smelt incredible and would not admit to wearing aftershave, was insistent it was his natural smell. In his case I think it was just a line he usedMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Why not spend £20 on Penhaligon's scent library: https://www.penhaligons.com/uk/en/categories/fragrances/shop-all/scent-library-000000000065151356
That should give you a better idea of which of their perfumes is going to be the luxury you hoped for in terms of how it smells/lasts on your skin and you won't have wasted too much of your hard-saved cash if you don't like any of them.0 -

Its not Penhaligons, but I bought some Miller Harris scent for my husband last year, which is also quite pricey. I spent about 20 minutes in the store smelling various scents and going back and forth, the sales person was quite happy to keep spraying papers with the samples until I decided on one I liked. He loved it and it is lasting very well.1
