Hi recently my valuation has been booked for a house I’m buying but was not given a choice by MB or nationwide so they just booked a free basic one. I wanted a homebuyers one and have been left with cancelling the free one with nationwide and rebooking a homebuyers with them but could add on more delays or keep the free one for nationwide and do my own independently but would have to wait for offer to come through and pay an extra £150+.  Is the extra money worth it for a independent one?

The valuation done by the bank is a separate thing to whatever surveys you choose to undertake yourself through independent surveyors.

Not sure how you could’ve ‘cancelled’ the valuation survey, as this is a requirement by the lender to ensure that the property is worth the amount you’re applying for?

It won’t be cancelling it, it will just be rebooking it with a homebuyers report aswell with valuation done at same time. You can get a homebuyers report done with nationwide for £270
