Won at Tribunal now my previous employer has disappeared

Last year my previous employer stopped paying my wages so I gave them notice and took them to tribunal. Won the case and was awarded £6200. They did not respond to the award and Bailiffs were instructed. The Bailiffs haven't been able to make any contact with them and it looks like they have disappeared back to the Ukraine. Is there any way I can recover my money from the Government eg. PAYE etc?

Sadly no, I don't think so unless any of the award was for redundancy money owed. Sadly this could be more costly for you if you have to pay the bailiffs' chargesIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Without being too specific but what was the company/nature of the business?Always interesting reading about dodgy companies and their shoddy practices. Makes you vigilante when going for interviews.0

It was a security equipment distribution company. The original directors told me that they owned the company then I discovered that wasn't the case and it was 2 guys in the Ukraine who were the owners. In the end it was all very dodgy even their solicitor in London was a very dodgy character who lied about everything in her correspondence to me.0

However, like others, I think it is very unlikely as she could be struck off. Saying, for example "My client maintains that......" is merely reporting what her client has told her, which may well be completely untrue. She may suspect that the client has not told her the truth but unless that have told her it is untrue she is not breaking the rules.0
