Policies maturing next year

I have a Flexible Mortgage Plan policy due to mature next July.  It no longer backs a mortgage so is purely a savings tool.  Given the current uncertainties should I cash it in now?

Comments

  • If it's mortgage related it's likely to be either with-profits or a managed fund ; both are only partly invested in the stock market

Since the money is not required to repay a mortgage and if you do not need the money anytime soon,  should things still be doom and gloom  when the policy matures next  July and markets are depressed,   you may perhaps turn this to your advantage by investing elsewhere  in a broadly-based fund where the price is also depressed   and sit back and await a recovery.

There are always uncertainties.    Why did you not ask this question during those other periods?
