Instagram comps strategy?

Options
Hey,
I may be overthinking this, but does the timing to enter Instagram comp really matter? I'm asking because I have entered comps as when I found them, sometimes very early, and would share to my story the day before for an extra entry. However, I won a £200 voucher yesterday by entering at the very last minute. The comp closed at midnight and I tagged people and shared to my story at 10.30pm. Is it just the luck of the draw?
Back to comping after an 8 year break!

I hate instagram comps to be honest. Mainly because no matter what the rules say. Tag a friend or tag two friends. Theres always people who will tag people individually but many times so they get multiple entries all the time. It confuses me lol Also because i use a pc i have no idea still how to share a post lol

Re your question it is just the luck of the draw.

Me too, you end up with some ppl tagging loads, and then of course they all enter - so the people who only tag a couple don't have much chance it seems to me. As for timing, I guess it depends if the ppl running it have  a method of tracking all the entries or just grab one quickly when it closes. Don't think there is a way to share on pc - I use pc version too as my eyesight isn't good but it's more limited.  really dislike the ones where you have to follow loads of pages too.

I'm on Instagram. I have quite a few followers and I follow back. In the defence of tagging others. Many Instagram competitions ask you to tag either one, two etc other accounts. If each post tagging others is worth one entry then that's what is done. I could tag 5 people in 3 posts and have 3 entries. Or if they say one tag post is worth 1 entry then I'll do that and receive 15 entries. Harsh but in the rules of the original poster

That's not what we mean. If a comp posts says 'tag a friend' you get lots of people who then tag 30 odd people individually. That is not what the rules of the original poster says you can do on most comps. Some do but that's different. . People do that in all comps on instagram and so of course always have the edge. It's annoying and so no point entering them.
