Redundancy during Furlough

Hi, I have been made redundant while on furlough.  During my notice period, my employer is going to pay me the furlough pay of 80%.  I thought whole point of furlough is to prevent redundancy, so in theory I should be on 100% pay during this notice period, or at least not on furlough any more and the employer pays the full wages.  Was made redundant on 14/09/20 and last day will be 26/10/20.
Any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks.

    I think you are right - see https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-law-to-ensure-furloughed-employees-receive-full-redundancy-payments .

    I was under the impression that you would be entitled to have the redundancy payment calculated on your normal pay but might still get paid the furlough rate during any notice period but it appears that you may be entitled to full pay during the notice period.
    It would of course be open to your employer to require you to work that notice period if they wish (which they may, if it means that they can put someone else on flexible furlough and recoup something towards wages)

    I was in a similar situation and was on 100% for my notice period not the 80% while on furlough. I think you should be on full pay
