Mortgage broker free vs charge differences

I contacted both free one and none free one ( 700 pounds to be exact )
The free one told me with my income i would get roughly 277k, or 290k if include bonus + OT but tricky
The none free one told me i would get roughly 315k or even possibly higher
I gave both of them the exact same number. So what's going on? Is the none free one try to get the business or he has magic?
