SECRET SCOTLAND SERIES 2 – COMPETITION 1 – ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Competition opened at 3pm on 18.09.2020Competition closes at midday on 11.12.2020 and 3 working days later for postal entries.

1) The prize comprises:
a) An allowance of £200 towards UK travel costs made payable to the winner in the form of a BACS transfer;
b) Three (3) nights’ accommodation for two at 5* Loch Ness Lodge, based on the prize winner and their companion sharing a Superior Room on a bed and breakfast basis (subject to availability);
c) One-hour boat trip for two on research vessel “Deepscan”;
d) Afternoon tea for two with storyteller and Silver Thistle award-winner “Mr. Loch Ness”;
e) Entry for two to the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre; and
f) £1000 spending money.

2) The prize winner must book their trip within 28 days of their congratulations e-mail from Element being sent and at least six weeks in advance of their preferred departure date or the prize may be forfeited.
3) Prize valid for 12 months from receipt of the congratulations e-mail from Element and cannot be taken over Christmas and New Year (19th December 2020 to 4th January 2021; 19th December 2021 to 4th January 2022), UK Bank Holidays (2nd to 5th April 2021; 3rd and 31st May 2021; 30th August 2021).
4) Where the prize winner is under 18 years old, he/she must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over to check into the hotel. Please note that either the prize winner or their companion will need a current and valid credit card in order to check in at the hotel for security deposit purposes. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to ensure that they and/or their companions adhere to the local laws in the UK.
5) The prize excludes transfers between the winner’s home and the train station/airport, drinks, additional meals, excursions, attractions, spa treatments, gratuities, personal expenses, travel insurance and all other costs and arrangements not expressly included in the prize.
6) The prize and all its elements are subject to availability. Neither Channel 5 nor Element will accept responsibility for the hotel or any facilities / elements of the prize being unavailable, withdrawn or amended.
7) There is no cash alternative or refund for unused portions of the prize.
8) Any amendments made by the prize winner after the booking is confirmed may be subject to administration charges levied by the specific supplier. Any such charges will be the responsibility of the prize winner.
9) A cheque or bank transfer (prize winner’s choice) for the spending money included in the prize will be issued in the prize winner’s name within 14 days of the holiday booking being confirmed.
10) An allowance towards UK travel costs will be provided to the winner only. The allowance is calculated at a set maximum of £100 per guest and will be made payable to the winner at the time of accommodation booking by the prize provider as a BACS transfer. This travel allowance will be paid to the winner up to a maximum of 2 guests/£200. Neither Channel 5 nor the prize provider are responsible for organising travel arrangements for this prize, it will be the winners responsibility to organise this appropriately throughout their stay unless otherwise stated.
