Can I appeal nationwides fee for leaving a fixed rate deal?

    Fair enough on the dont ask dont get basis.  However, your post read as if you were looking to challenge  it or see if there was a get out clause.    Hence the responses focusing on that.      ERCs exist for good reason.  There are no get out clauses nowadays as its been a few decades since there were.  The fee is considered fair and legal and exists for good reason.     You are 100% reliant on a goodwill gesture from nationwide.  Dont expect them to give in.   You would be effectively asking them to pass your costs onto other members.    That would be unfair.   Banks and building societies often do strange things so I cannot say you won't succeed.   Just that the expectation would be a firm no.
