I can't recommend these cheap grinders from Ikea enough... You can adjust the 'chunkiness' of the grind by turning the screw thing & mine haven't shown any signs of wearing out yet after several years. I've put most of the bits in the dishwasher apart from the actual grinder mechanism.

I brought some fruit kinves from tesco last year for 99p......
still going strong...still sharp...and comfortable to use...
NOTE:...am trying to convince myself I do need the sabatier ones in Tx MAx that are half price at the moment at £199.....
