Any worked for Amazon

Since being out of work i've applied for near enough most jobs i feel best suited too as i think most would do at this time as your fighting against hundreds. However i've had two offers already one from an agency for Amazon full time starting asap and the other asda i had a interview for a part time job further away who want an answer by tomorrow but have a full time role doing the same job closer come up yesterday.

I've rather work for asda from what i've read about amazon but full time,Looking for advice on if amazon is as bad as some reviews? i was hoping i'd be told about the asda role further into this week from what i was told so i could get a feeling on the role at amazon first

I work in a warehouse run under contract by my employer for a major supermarket. All these warehouses run along similar lines. My colleagues mostly have computer terminals on their wrists and everything they do is timed. Take 11 minutes to do a 10 minute job and your % achieved goes down. You will soon get a reputation as an underachiever and get monitored more closely if it keeps happening. The agency have the same targets but are paid by what they achieve. Below 100% and its hello to the minimum wage. At 105% a bonus is paid that makes it reasonable money. No one achieves the rate until they have a few months experience. The agency get the crap jobs and the crap equipment. Full time staff often get stressed with new people because they cause hold ups for everyone. I'll admit to being guilty of that at times too.
Stick it out a few years and they can get a full time job, which is not as good as it used to be, but not bad as things go.

The big difference with Amazon is that Amazons staff are mostly on foot whereas my warehouse colleagues mostly uses electric trucks to move stuff around. With Amazon be prepared to walk 15 or 20 miles per shift. Otherwise the systems are very similar.

The thing to remember is that these are fairly secure jobs. Amazon/Supermarkets are not going anywhere soon. Get past the agency stage and they are reasonable jobs. You just need to get past the initial poor pay and conditions.

Bit late now i'm due to start tomorrrow and was offered the role on friday night,Reading Asdas offer they want me to start thursday even though i said i may need to give a weeks notice to a agency.
it stats "During the first four weeks working with us, in the unfortunate event that either you or we decide to end your employment then we can do so without a need to give any notice to each other"
I'm thinking it may be best to decline the offer and reapply for the one nearest and hope i get that if i hate amazon

Doubt i can accept two jobs and then quit the other
