Furloughed in need of mortgage

Hi all, first time poster, long time reader of advice from this forum.
My situation - first time buyer, found the house, offer made and accepted. We have MIP with Halifax with 15% deposit. House 165k. Issue is me. My partner is employed same company for 20 years, has shift allowance all that time. I was employed for 10 years then had a change of career. So self employed carer with not enough years for mortgage less than 1 full year filed. 19/20. I have a paye job for more than 12 months on zero hours but have worked same hours for 12 months, however I'm currently furloughed but have a letter from employers stating intention of back to work 1 November. (this is for company who I had been working for for 10 years)
The MIP is for more than we need by 30k. But I don't know if Halifax will turn me down right away due to my employment situation. Even though I have proof of regular income for past 12 years, including paying rent which is more than mortgage repayment for all this time. Does anyone work for mortgage companies who make these decisions?? That could give any advice our advisor is just about to put the application in on Monday so want to have a strong an application as possible. Thanks

Hiya buddy
I have been through this since March!
hsbc will take a letter from your eomploye with a return to work date along with nationwide and accord.
nationwide stopped taking additional payments and casuals 6 weeks ago.
hsbc have asked us for a lot of letters from our employee asking about wage and confirming yearly wage.
if you can get all that hsbc is the way to go, I’m hoping to have completion this Friday!1 -
Good luck. Our MA seems to think Halifax might be a goer. 🤞 I really just want to have everything they might need. Have letter from employer and 12 months payslips. I think problem is the zero hour contract. I have collated bank statements. Frustrating for me is I make more money from self employment in elderly care but can't be considered.0

Just make sure your MA speak to the business development manager , we had it when we were told certain banks would be fine to then be told they declined application because of x reason .
things we had problems with with 3 banks was.
extra income Un contractedLetter with confirmed return to workyearly income guaranteed regardless of another lockdown.Be prepared for a lot of back and forth and dispointment , we went through 3 banks being told it should be fine.1 -
It's frustrating for sure and I have not even put the application in. Renting for 13 years at a cost of mot than mortgage plus bills. Covid has a lot to answer for. 😊 Did you get your mortgage approved in the end?0

Yes in the end, 80% mortgage , completion is Friday So fingers crossed they don’t pull it for covid reasons.Took since March to get one through0

I'm dreading this application process. Just need to hope I have all the information they are looking for. Any further tips for documentation to provide?0
