  • They have my address (which I’ve now moved from), my mobile number and email address. So I hope nothing more comes from this but I’m definitely weary and have got my witts about me now.

Yes a definite scam, any job that requires you to use your own ebay account is a definite no and a 150% turn off for me is being asked to pay the listing fees.

OP are you on indeed ?
I found indeed to be better than dwp.

  • Yes indeed is ok if unemployed but it has a nasty habit of displaying your CV to your current employer even when you have had the request to be private / not visible to be selected - to be honest I wouldn't trust any job board but I guess everything comes down to risk. There is a saying 'to good to be true' for a reason. I got my current job through findajob which has given me nearly 8 months solid no messin full time employment but it certainly wasn't for a wage in excess of £12 per hour. I imagine in these times you simply say I am not prepared to touch the product which I don't know where it has been in times, of risking infection. The OP has used their initiative and detective skills, bravo them.
  • With regard to Indeed, you don't have to upload your CV - you can just send it out (with a cover letter) every time you apply (customising them to the role you're applying for, of course).

If they "sue you" they will have to quantify their losses to a judge. And they sound just about zero.
  • I am on indeed! But they ran out of jobs for me to apply for because I’d applied to so many 😂
I am now applying to work for the DWP, such is the irony haha.

Thanks for the messages and help with this btw, I’m glad everyone agrees it is a scam and thank you for the reassurances about “being sued”! It has made me feel better but I also hope anyone who has read this is more aware of job scams out there!
  • Saw another one of these jobs today.

    Deffo sounds dodgy.
