Remortgaging and moving house

Hi, hoping someone can help with probably quite a simple question. My 5 year fixed mortgage is due to expire on the flat I now live in. We are planning to move hopefully in the next couple of years. If our plan is to move and sell the current flat in next couple of years, what type of remortgaging deal for the current flat would be best suited for our situation? Thanks in advance.

maybe remain on SVR, get a 2 year deal or there are deals out there where there is no ERC, it depends on when you want to move.

I would suggest a broker to go through your options

  • Which lender are you with and how long do you think you are likely to stay there before wanting to move. Within 2 years or over 2 years?
  • NatWest. We'd start doing viewings now and getting viewings in to sell current flat but holding off due to coronavirus. So soon as it feels safer to lug a toddler around for viewings we will, hopefully within next couple years.
    Thank you for help.
  • You could remortgage to a no tie in tracker. Cheaper than svr but means no erc if you move and dont stay with the same lender
