Adverse Account on credit file and applying direct to lender

Hello everyone
I have 4 late payments from 2017 on my Next account. I have a DIP from Barclays. I’d like to apply online for my mortgage but would it be better to apply by telephone? I’m worried it will be an automatic rejection. My LTV is 24.8% and I currently do not have a mortgage.
Thank you for any advice or reassurance!

Hey!
I am no mortgage broker but I have a telephone meeting with HSBC today and I have missed payments from 2015 and 2016 so I've been wondering the same thing.

This is barclays lending criteria and it outlines what adverse credit would be a decline. This might be helpful and put your mind at rest!
Wishing you all the best.

Slightly different but..
I've recently applied with Halifax, my partner had a default that we have had removed, when applying direct with Halifax we explained what happened and he added all the information to the application in case it was still showing on his recent credit report. The MA said it's best to be honest and these notes do get reviewed. So i felt more reassured doing it with a human.1 -
I'd imagine that the process will involve a telephone call. As Barclays will need to ensure that all regulatory aspects have been addressed. Reliance on the borrower by simply ticking a box on a form isn't adequate.1
