Mortgage Application and Bank Overdraft
Hi, first time poster here.
My husband and I are planning to use the H2B to purchase a new build in November, and so far have passed the initial qualifying check and Halifax's AIP through our mortgage broker (early stages, but positive steps in the right direction). My query however relates to the use of our overdrafts. We currently have three accounts, one entirely for saving our deposit and two others for living expenses. Over the past 3-4 months, there have been occasions when our expenses have dipped into our overdrafts (£15 in one, and £20 unauthorised today in the other), mainly because we are saving every spare penny towards our deposit. This has otherwise rarely happened until now, and whilst the amounts might seem very small, my question is will it affect our mortgage application? We are both otherwise seemingly ideal applicants, we have never used credit cards and have very little history of debt (except for student loans), and are both in permanent NHS jobs earning a combined income of £45000 a year.
Thanks very much for your help!
