Remortgage fully owned house when living abroad.

I live in a British Overseas Territory. The borders to my country are closed and I cannot travel. I want to partially remortgage the house I own outright in the UK in order to fund a house purchase where I live. I understand I have to physically be in the UK to get a remortgage. But I literally can't. Does anyone know of a company that may lend to overseas purchasers? I am British and have lived in and paid tax in the UK for many decades. Thank you in advance.

I don't see why it would be a problem if you're just temporarily abroad. If you mean your main residence is abroad, then being able to travel to the UK isn't going to help much. Who is occupying the house (if anyone)?photogem25 said:I understand I have to physically be in the UK to get a remortgage.

That's of no relevance to a UK lender. The pool of lenders is going to be small given your circumstances. Is the property currently let?photogem25 said:I am British and have lived in and paid tax in the UK for many decades.1 -
It is possible- we are working on two currently.
One for a resident of Israel, another for a resident of Thailand.Contact a UK based broker like ourselves who works remotely.I am a Mortgage Broker

The property has been let to tenants, and is (as of tomorrow) empty.

Would it not be simpler (and probably cheaper) just to sell it?0

Brock_and_Roll selling is my current plan, but I would prefer to stay on the UK property ladder. With a buy to let mortgage the rent covers the payments and I get to keep the house and buy one where I am living.
