Nationwide Mortgage Payday loans

Hi
what is Nationwide’s policy on historic payday loans ? Do they consider those that are settled over 12 months ago ? Myself and my partner are looking to apply for a joint mortgage he has an excellent credit rating with no adverse history however mine is. Or so great . We have ltv of 70% .

Thanks

  • You may be best speaking with a broker. A lot of lenders have tighterned there criteria at the moment with eveything going on. However, there should be a lot of options available to you with 70% ltv. A broker will be able to advise the best lender to your criteria.

  • There are lenders who are more sympathetic to payday loans than others
nationwide it is down to underwriter discretion so they have no hard and fast rule
Why nationwide? They aren't market leading at the moment and are around a month long queue for the underwriter.

  • Both myself and my partner are existing nationwide customers he currently has a single mortgage with them but the fixed term is up next year . Hence why we are considering sticking with nationwide to Remortgage jointly to make the process more straightforward . The payday loans will be a year old by the time we apply.
