Legal Eagle needed - advice on bailiffs.

I recently bought a house and we just moved in. The house has been vacant since February but prior to that it was let out. The post arrived and I opened it without checking who it was for and opened a letter addressed to one of the tenants. It was about a court order saying that they hadn't made payments or set up a payment plan. It said that they aren't sending enforcement officers to homes during Covid but that they would be resuming and so encouraged the tenant to contact them to set up a payment plan.
I don't want the bailiffs turning up to my home. What should I do about this? They haven't lived in the property for quite some time so clearly have not been dealing with whatever this issue is.

Return all mail as not known as this address.
Even if they did turn up, what do you think would happen? Are you the named person? Can you easily prove you are not the named person?0 -
Pop the letter back in the post and mark it “NOT AT THIS ADDRESS”.
Its not something you want to get involved with, if a bailiff does turn up, simply keep the door locked, explain the tenant in question has moved, and show them your ID.Hopefully return of the letter will instigate a new search for the actual debtor.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I'd be a bit more forward than just "not at this address". Call up the main number for the EO and explain that you are the new owners of the address and that the person named in the letter has moved on. Explain that you understand that wasted visits cost the EO and the claimants and you do not wish them to have a worthless journey. Ask them to pass it onto the EO.
Bailiffs are humans too. They have rent to pay; food to provide; and don't need hassle. Their wasted costs are the reason why bailiff costs are high.
