Challenge thread - doing a waste audit for a week c/ 14 September 2020

Hi all, I used to be a member here some time ago, but I think the system must have changed somewhere along the line, so am back afresh
Over the last couple of years, I've increasing become more conscious of waste both food waste, plastic waste, and how easy it is to over consume. I remember the 'old style' board as being a place where people generally were thrifty, and made the most of what they had - which often is the most environmentally friendly option!
I have being reading about waste audits, the premise being, you see what waste you generate, and then analyse it to see if there are ways to reduce, recycle, reuse; or alternatively make more ethical or sustainable choices (the latter of course, subject to whether this is affordable - as have become very aware that this approach in some cases can be cost prohibitive).
For one week, starting on Monday I plan to keep a list of every item I throw away or discard. Then to look at the list and review what this is telling me, and look for areas of improvement.
It is always more fun to do a challenge with others, and was wondering if anybody else would like to do this too? x
