Last year we asked to submit to our sports club a mileage total for volunteering to transport junior players to matches. We were advised that we personally would benefit from a return of 20 p in the pound & the club could claim 40p in the pound via gift aid from hmrc.
We are now being told that the amount we will recieve is only just over 10% of the initial amount & that the club will only be eligible to a similar amount from hmrc. Does any one know the rulings on gift aid for vounteers milage within clubs.
Can the club get full tax relief on the full amount or just a percentage as they currently believe?
