Mortgage application and sick pay

Hi everyone
I’m super new here so if I do/say something wrong I apologise.
I’m super new here so if I do/say something wrong I apologise.
Me and partner have just applied for a mortgage in principle, and they’ve taken our bank statements and payslips.
My friend has just passed away in a very traumatic way and I have come to work the last couple of days but my managers have been awful about it, and today they pushed me to crisis and I have been crying at work for hours now. I really think I need to get myself signed off for a week or two as work isn’t a good environment for me. But I am worried that the drop in my wages this month will affect our mortgage application. A week off would make me £380 down!
Can anyone please help? It’s making my panic so much more by thinking we could lose our mortgage over this.
Thanks in advance

I’m sorry I don’t know the answer, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to answer your question.
However, I just wanted to say I am sorry about your friend and hopefully you are at home now with your partner / family and are feeling a bit better.0 -
Surely they have asked for the last 3 months of wage slips which wont have any sick pay on them?0

If they’ve already taken your wage slips then it won’t show the sick pay on. I’m not sure how it works with sick pay in general and mortgages though.0

Well if someone is planning to be off on the sick for a long time then they really need to tell the mortgage company about a change in circumstances before it completes. A week or so isnt going to matter and as already said, the OP has already provided non-sick pay slips.tweet86 said:If they’ve already taken your wage slips then it won’t show the sick pay on. Well that’s what I mean, a couple of weeks sick shouldn’t make any difference. But generally, would a mortgage company question sick pay on a pay slip? I’m just curious. I know when I was on maternity and we remortgaged they questioned my return to work but just took my word for it that I’d be returning as planned.bradders1983 said:
