Mortgage dilemma

Hi. I'm living with my husband, who I've separated from... separation happened Feb,then covid hit, then his threat of redundancy. So had to stay together. He's looking for somewhere else now to live/rent. We have a joint mortgage of £87, equity of roughly £75k. Due to after effects of chemo I haven't worked for 3 years. I don't earn enough on paper to have the mortgage in my name only. I have a lump sum from an inheritance of ,£50 to put on a mortgage.(and pay my husband) Were tied into this mortgage until next April. He's agreed to stay on the mortgage. He earns 40k. I earn enough only to have a £16k mortgage. Ideally I'd like to have it in my name alone. He's requested £15k now and £15 on sale of house or when daughter reaches 18, she's 11. Does anyone see any best way forward for me please. Were being very amicable here so want to keep it that way.

Sounds like your best option is to downsize to a property that you can afford to pay off by yourself.0

Yes. Trouble is my daughter's just started high school and it's hard to get a property near her catchment area.0

Well, the other solution would be earning more, so you can afford the mortgage.
If you can't do so, the mortgage will remain in joint names - so you need to find a solution with your soon-to-be-ex husband.
Your ideal solution is if he agrees to stay named on the mortgage, while you use your inheritance to pay it down over the next few years, over which you may get yourself into a position where you can keep the house by yourself.
