What a nightmare... advice needed!

I put down a deposit of £1,000 for a new build house with a developer. The survey for the mortgage was due to take place today.
However, I got a phone call yesterday evening saying the developer is selling it to someone else. They only accepted my offer a week ago!
What is my recourse of action in this situation? My deposit was just a BACS transfer to the developers bank account.

What were the terms of your deposit? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
You'll be entitled to the deposit back - is that all you're asking about?

Did they confirm you had it reserved for a month?0

It’s one sided, you just get your deposit back. Just like every other buying/lettering process in UK.0
