Prize Value

I’m just wondering how do companies come up with what the prize is worth?
I’ve won something that I think has been over valued.

I’m very grateful that I won a prize recently for a one night stay with breakfast and dinner included and tickets to Windsor castle.

The terms say ‘An overnight stay at Castle Hotel Windsor MGallery worth £500, inclusive of breakfast and dinner, and two tickets to Windsor Castle’

I have looked on the hotels website and I can buy the same room with the same food for £190 pounds then add on 2 tickets to the castle and it’s £238 in total
So nowhere near what they’ve quoted for the prize.

If I was you would you enquire about it?
I was passed from the prize provider to an agency and then passed on to the hotel itself to make the booking.

Its just a bit of a moan really, I’m very grateful for the prize but don’t think they should say it’s worth so much when it isn’t.

  • I think this happens often.
It does not bother me at all as I am so pleased to win anything.
If it was me I would not query it as at sometime the cost of the room etc may have been much higher.
Well done on winning it is a lovely prize.

RRP or a full non-discounted price or even a "special" competition winners price - in reality almost anything they like - on many occasions tech prizes for instance will be massively more than you actually need to pay
