With the way this COVID is going and the deaths rise is starting to get higher again, and with the news now that local social gatherings have been banned, do any of you think that Job Centres across the country will not be opening now for a bit?

I think they are mostly open however they are doing everything via phone and email. That's why they want to get people switched onto the new UC system so that they can harass them remotely. I'm on the legacy benefits and personally I wouldn't be surprised if I don't hear from them until next April when they finally get around to raising them or un raising UC. The first thing people on JSA are going to do is complain bitterly that they didn't get the £20 uplift so they won't want to deal with that. Also the unions ( PCS) are going to kick up a fuss if they move too fast. Unemployment is set to peak probably early next year any way so there really isn't much point going there IMHO. All the new people claiming UC probably get some special weekly treatment for a few months or something. Then they are also trying to recruit and train thousands of advisors, the DWP was just as run down and under funded as all the other public services before COVID don't forget.
