Amazon UK Phone Number

Does anyone know the phone number for Amazon UK Customer Services, please.
They make it difficult to find on their website and using a search engine gives results about scam numbers that are not to be trusted.
I can't get access to my Amazon account because they have stopped sending "one-time-passwords", now they send weblinks for 'smart phones', but I don't own one of those devices.

There's am option for them to call you.
However, chat will be faster and more efficient.

Thanks, zx81, but that still requires me to login using a 'smart phone' which I don't have and the "Chat" also won't work without logging in.I've found a 0808 number hidden in the Q&A options, so I will try that.0808 1453768

The number works and i got back into my account
Why Amazon cannot have an additional option of using my registered email address to reset any details is beyond me
Also what does it say that i had to fumble about into a third party website to find the above number in the 1st place
To top it off i get a email from Amazon which although helpful and polite states at the bottom
"Your feedback is helping us build Earth's Most Customer-Centric Company"

I have noticed that the standard of customer service lately has droped through the floor, ( Has anyone else also found this to be the case?) particular if you have brought from a retailer that's using Amazon and not Amazon its self.
I needed to send back a faulty item and was expected to pay return postage. I objected to this with both retailer and Amazon and only aftrer giving the item a bad revue did I persuade the retailer to send a prepaid label.
Now in the past when I have had a similar problem, I've found Amazon to be helpful and they have always sorted this out for me .NOT this time I found that most of the time my questions and complaints were being handled by a computer that kept sending me nonsense e mails and texts reputedly asking the same questions when I stoped answering I got an email stateing that I had been removed from the system.
I believe that Amazon have deliberately cheapened the customer service they offer their customers.
I know one thing now ,I will be careful not to order from any seller on their site other than Amazon themselves.
