Problem is that these individuals will then change their mind later and blame everyone else saying they shouldnt have got the mortgage.
They dont mind telling the lies to get the mortgage but when it goes wrong they dont want the responsibility that goes with it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
It's OK Mr McAteer/Which/Consumer action group will point them in the right direction for compensation.

Agree.
Yes, there are those IFAs who are economical with the truth, but ultimately it is up to the individual applying as to whether he tells the truth or not.
If an applicant has been been honest and truthful all the way through the application, and then comes unstuck, then I do feel for him if his misfortune couldn't reasonable have been predicted (accident at work, redundancy or illness).
However applicants who have lied to get a mortgage are as culprable as the IFAs who encourage it IMO.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0
