Bank of Ireland Mortgages looking to port with a default.

Has anyone got any experience with Bank of Ireland when it comes to defaults and looking to ask for an additional 29000 of funding. My Current mortgage has a balance of 43.6k left to pay. I have a default on my credit report that was settled in Feb 2020 for a balance of 668. Im currently in a fixed rate for 3 years 2 months. ERC is about 1660 if get the sale agreed before november or around 1260 if it take place in that month. I have a mortgage offer in place from halifax to cover my new purchase. I had recently brought it up to a bank of Ireland staff member he was not sure they would allow as they may see i only cleared the debt as i was looking at new properties.

They are a 'clean' lender so they will decline the case on submission.  You might be able to appeal but realistically what would be your justification for appeal?

I have called them to discuss. you are correct they would not be able to lend the additonal funds they would allow me to port to the same price. Loyalty with this bank for over 10 years. current accounts loans credit cards and my mortgage went through a rough patch but they will be there when my new mortgage is up for review at end of fixed period.
