Solicitors started to exchange documents but i don't have offer yet

Hi dilemma is we accepted offer on our house and gave offer to new house solicitors started to exchange details and asking for payments we only porting mortgage as we in fixed deal with the bank and erc is 10k . our income 40k and we only need 32%ltv should we wait for offer or pay solicitors to start work?

If you don't have any particular concern about getting a mortgage offer, I would just progress the legal work in the meantime.1

It’s only a small morgage and you earn a lot so go for it. The fees should be a quarter of the quote to pay upfront which they use for searches0
