Minor gambling and mortgage application

Miss Tenchy will be applying for a mortgage in the next few months. She's concerned that her £10 per month Fantasy Football fee (a works-run scheme), which appears on her payslip, might mark her down as a gambler and therefore adversely affect the application. Common sense would indicate that it shouldn't have an effect, but I know you can't always rely on common sense in these matters. Any thoughts?

£10 per month? Nothing to worry about in the slightest, they won't even give it a thought!tenchy said:Miss Tenchy will be applying for a mortgage in the next few months. Can you say how much a week? I’m in the same boat about applying and my partner likes a bet...bradders1983 said:Barclays have just had my bank statements showing significant card payments and refunds to/from various bookmakers and they didnt bat an eyelid, i can assure you much more than a tenner a week!0 -
Lenders concerned with gambling are looking at the frequency more than anything.
£10 a month is fine. £10 a week is fine as you will have people who put money on every week for the football for instance. It is a set amount and consistent and not a sign of someone who has a problem.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. What about up to £300 per month?
