M&S gave me a credit note for £285
it has expired and they won’t honour it
I have explained the reason why I had forgotten about it but they don’t care
Can anyone suggest anything

Why did they give a credit note,
Was there no refund due?
It sounds a kindly gesture,
Rather than what they had to do.
But if it has expired,
Then there's little you can do,
Your only hope is more goodwill
If they'll show that to you.
