Paid off credit card but overpaid as I'm an idiot

I paid off my credit card! Yay! Capital One! Paid off the 12.88 GBP remaining
However because I am an IDIOT I am somehow now 19 GBP in credit. It seems my immaculate record keeping was nonsense and I had actually paid it off last month....
NOTE TO SELF: Make a final check on the app before paying off the amount you think you owe!
I want to shut the account - will they refund it to my bank???
A cheque is a pain as I live overseas
19GBP in my bank account would be SO delicious...I could feed it to my Barclaycard
Hoping to God my 830GBP payment to Vanquis was not also an overpayment (I wish!)

You can ask them to send it to your account.
Alternatively just spend it, and then pay off any remaining balance (but with more accuracy) and close the account.

I overpaid a cc once as I wanted to make sure that any interest charges were covered so I could close the account.
Once they were applied I phoned up cancelled the card and they eventually refunded the balance to my bank account.1 -
Thanks everyone! Rather not spend as I'm abroad and so calculating how much I have to play with might end up in me going over (since we have established I cannot COUNT!)...I'll be hopeful based on your advice that they refund to account.March 2020 - 21k of debt; September 2020 - 14k of debt.
