Do I need level 2 in Health and social care to do level 3?

Hi there. Also sorry if this is in the wrong category I thought it was the best fitting.
I currently work as a Nursing assistant in a nursing home. When I applied for the job I was promised that I could do my (then NVQ) Level 2 &. 3 in Health and Social care. It's been 2 years now and notthing is happening in This department and I'm tempted to just buy an online course and do it myself.
It seems the course has now been replaced with the RQF Level 2 & 3 in Adult Care (is this correct?). It seems the entry requirements for both Level 2 & 3 are the same. Most of the distant learning courses require me to do 50 hours placement ( I already have worked here for 2 years so not an issue) and to have supervisions signed d by a Competent member of staff eg RN.
What I want to ask is, is it necessary to do the Level 2 to be able to do the level 3, or can I go straight into the Level 3 course without the 2?
I would be interested in progressing into nursing possibly so anyone had any experience with this?
Thankyou.

no idea, but perhaps contact the admissions office at the local teaching hospital and ask their advice if you are serious about progressing into nursing

You can go straight in to doing a L3. Have you looked at what is assessed?0

Yeh I've had a look through the units and how it's assessed and it's all basically stuff I already do at work, and I just need an RN or Care Lead to sign off supervisions etc.General_Grant said:You can go straight in to doing a L3. Have you looked at what is assessed?0
