Halifax Mortgage Criteria

Hi,
This is my first time posting.
We are currently going through the process of applying for a HTB mortgage through Halifax, which I am finding extremely stressful.
We both have great credit scores and no adverse credit within the last 10 yrs, currently we have about £32000 in unsecured debt and will be settling about £20000 of this before the mortgage completes.
I am worried that Halifax will decline the application as the debt level is high at the moment.
We have a combined income of about £77k and are looking to borrow £255k we are currently using a broker who seems to think we will be ok.
Another concern of mine is that my partner has an historical debt with link financial from about 13yrs ago which she is paying £50 a month towards which shows on our bank statement, are Halifax likely to decline because of this and do they ask to see bank statements.
We have no defaults or ccjs on our file and all debts are paid on time with no overdraft usage.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and sorry for the long post.
Thanks

Hi I can’t offer much advice but can offer you some good luck. I’m in the process with Halifax also (submitted via broker yesterday, 4th September). This site may offer some help halifax-intermediaries (DOT) co (DOT) uk /criteria/mortgage/default.aspx.Also it THINK your broker only gets paid by the lender when your mortgage completes.I’ve seen a few people get through with Halifax without bank Statements. Just one payslip and ID.
Good luck!1 -

We have provided 3 months wage slips and bank statements on advice of the broker so hopefully everything will be ok.0 -
I had to do this also. I think the broker just collects them incase the lender does request them. I think also for compliance as well.mjbc85 said:

Thanks, if you don't mind me asking how many wage slips and bank statements did you need to provide for your Halifax application.shakAFC said:
