insolvency search

Hi, does anyone know if i can pay a solicitor to do an insolvency search for me. I have previously had a trust deed which is no longer on my credit file or showing on the public insolvency register but i have been told that the search a solicitor does before exchanging contract in a house purchase is more in depth. I would like to get this done before i apply for my mortgage rather than it showing up at the final hurdle.

Where else do you expect them to look? Have you checked gazette?

As long as your mortgage lender is aware of your trust deed there won’t be a problem anyway.

i was bankrupt 7 years ago, if anything came up when our solicitor did her search she didn’t mention it, even if something had shown up, our lender was fully aware anyway so it wouldn’t have made a difference.
