Me again!
We put our house back on the market after being messed about, we accepted an offer 5 days later.
The new buyers have a 10% dep and after visiting HSBC with who they had a dip with they got told they wouldn't be able to get the full mortgage amount. I gave them details of my mortgage advisor instead of them trying themselves because they are first time buyers so might need the help.
Last Saturday they had an appointment with her and she applied for a dip, I have just spoken to the buyers and they still havnt heard back about it. Advisor told them everything is slow at the moment, I know it is slower than normal but I assumed a dip would be quicker than nearly a week to come back.
I have a feeling we are going to be waiting around for weeks with no sale at the end, again.
Can someone tell me the advisor is right with what she says about the waiting time. We got ours back within an hour in May so it's making me worry it's not looking good.
Thanks

I though DIPs were instantaneous if done online?Beckydev said:Me again!

Decision in Principle is no indication of an acceptance; don't get serious about the buyer until that decision is definite aswell as offered.
Keep your emotions in check, keep all options open, because you're still a long way from those folks being proceedable and you're potentially another 2 or months away, from moving dates.0 -
I understand its not a definite but at the moment they havnt even got a maybe with a dip, they applied for one nearly a week ago. The advisor is saying because eof covid response times are longer, I just thought they would have one by now if all was OK. Wasn't sure if the wait time to get one had changed0
