Sc2 Form ...

I have filled in an sc2 form on 5 August . I then received a doctors note on 13th and sent both into work . My work then asked me for a sick note covering me from 10th August -
Does my self cert (sc2) not cover me for a week ? Going to check with doctor tomorrow but though I’d ask here too . Do all sc2 last for 7 days ....

    From the .GOV guide

    Eligibility and form SSP1

To qualify for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) employees must:

    • have an employment contract
    • have done some work under their contract
    • have been sick for 4 or more days in a row (including non-working days) - known as a ‘period of incapacity for work’
    • earn an average of at least £120 per week
    • give you the correct notice
    • give you proof of their illness, only after 7 days off

The 5th was a Wednesday. Your self Cert covered you to the following Tuesday. You would then need a doctors note from the next Wednesday, the 12th. If your sick note is from the 13th you are a day short. Asking you for a note from the 10th rather than the 12th is probably a mistake but you are a day short.
