    Agree with the above.

I'd clear your debts before you start trying to take out more credit.

Best starting by owing nothing before big purchases.
  • Thanks for your replies. I'm not being inconsistent, the 8k debt is in my mother's name which I pay £206 a month for, like I said it's a potential bike, for when the court date comes.
But if you get a driving ban that's a ban not just for cars but every vehicle you need a driving licence for, including motorbikes.

    I know, I'm hoping I don't that's why I said potential.

Second hand prices have gone through the roof in recent years, have you passed your test yet ?
Even 10 year old 125`s are around the 2k mark on auto trader.

I’d agree with the point above, you’ll not get anything decent for £1,000 nowadays, so you’ll need to budget some money and time to get it working, plus a few hundred for helmet, jacket, boots and gloves.
  • I have the gear. I'm looking at saving until October and getting the loan of £1000 for something around 2-3k. I have a CBT, looking for a 125. That's hoping the court date goes fine. (Check my other thread)
