Second Mortgage Extention Halifax

We are with Halifax. Our mortgage has been automatically extended by the lender for three months (July-September). Since our house wont be completed until November we called our broker today to see if we can get another extension. He said that Halifax will “refresh” our application, meaning we don’t need to reapply but we will have to choose another mortgage product. He said he will contact Halifax mid September as it is still to early to call them now. Can you please let share your thoughts on this? Can we get a second extension without having to reapply?

Thanks!

Yep. Keep on selecting new products and having the valuation refreshed every six months (it's a new inspection after twelve months). It's a delight for the newbuild sector.

  • Great! Thank you kingstreet! We are so relieved! Thank you!!!!!!!
  • Update!

Halifax extended our mortgage offer with a new product but it’s only valud until 21st Nov! Omg! I am not sure if the house will be ready by then. Do you think we can request for another extension before it expires? That would be the third time we will be requesting for an extension!

    Help! Please!

Was the valuation done on/around 21 May? I suspect 21 November is the valuation expiry date and Halifax will simply refresh it a couple of weeks before it expires and your offer will then revert to the product drawdown deadline which is currently end of March or end of June next year.
