Habito?

Options
Hi there.  Has anyone had any experience in dealing with Habito?  Just wondering what they're like as an option for using them as a broker.  Thanks.

Currently using them for my first mortgage, everything's chat based and it's pretty swift to get an AIP so there's no harm in chatting with them.
I went ahead and used them (FTB so no real experience dealing with brokers) as it was pretty convenient and they were quick to respond during COVID. Uploaded all my documents and had them checked before the application went through to the lender so no nasty surprises (so far...)

Great.  How long did it take to get your application in once your docs were uploaded?

    Check out old threads....
However, a summary would be that, like most online/direct services, they are perfectly fine when things are easy.  Less so when things are not quite as smooth or cases are more complicated (such as pushing limits, criteria etc).

  • There is another thread on this that was replied to fairly recently. I had to walk away from Habito - I had a situation where the lender they applied with were being quite inflexible about remedial works and the Habito broker wouldn’t fight my corner with them and wouldn’t refer me to another lender. Lost about three weeks due to this. Surprise surprise the Habito broker was wrong and I have a mortgage with another lender with no issues. If it’s all going to be straightforward it’ll be fine but you can never tell whether it will be straightforward or not...
