Waiting for halifax decsion... so worried I cant sleep!

Options
Prev declined by nationwide due to use of (approved) overdrafts.
MA applied to Halifax. AIP agreed, everything 100% truthful but im so worried about decision its literally keeping me awake at night. I work for nhs obvs no drop to income during covid (infact income increased due to picking up extra shifts) but my husband is self employed couldnt work during peak lock down as couldnt get any work materials due to suppliers being closed so did claim government grant. He has recovered well and accounts support this. Halifax have asked to see business accounts (nationwide didnt) we have a few loans and cc between us but have declared it all on AIP. Just looking for some reassurance 🤞🤞🤞 longest wait ever, and typically a bank holiday weekend!

  • At the moment the only thing you can do is be Zen about the whole thing
Lenders are taking forever and nothing is certain until it has been through underwriting. There is nothing you can do until it has been through underwriting so please try not to panic - you have a broker let them do the worrying for you as that is our job.
A broker shouldn't be placing it to a lender unless reasonably sure of success.

Thank you! Im trying to stay calm. MA says he very rarely has applications declined as he wont put them in unless he's confident. I think the nationwide decline has put doubt in my mind and the pressure of finding our perfect home. Keeping everything crossed

Halifax are taking 8-10 working days to review supplied documentation so you need to expect a long haul to get the decision here.
