Boom_Boom said:I am sceptical that these free entries are included in the draw and also that there is no audit process. They should be forced to have 1 online entry which can be verified as been received.
I am surprised that they want to bother with postal entries as it seems more trouble than it is worth to administer them, which they probably don't do anyway. I guess that is the idea though to make it as difficult as possible to enter to put people off which is why they don't bother with free online entry.
(it makes no difference to them what entry route the winner uses, it's all about maximising how much is spent on entries)
and the Act used to say
where any doubts exist as to whether the web entry arrangements in any particular case fully satisfy the Act’s requirements, other routes, for example by post that has been specifically sanctioned by Parliament, should be offered in addition.

I joined in the monthly DD option. I won a prize, but they didn’t email me or call me to let me know and I had just days to claim it, because I don’t remember to check on the day it’s draw, I was too late to claim it.. so yeah, I’m now of the mind it’s a scam.0

I have won a few runner-up prizes from Omaze in the form of £10 Amazon vouchers. In every case, they informed me via the email on my account and I was given 45 days to claim. In one case, they also sent a follow-up email as I hadn't claimed in 5 days. The entries are collated by Civica Election Services not by Omaze. They were previously called Electoral Reform Services and administer ballots and elections for organisations like trade unions, public bodies and AGMs.So I don't think it's a scam. I have no connection with Omaze or Civica. I just don't subscribe to the "I haven't won so it must be a fix" theory.

I have never entered these and wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole to be honest.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.671

I won a £10 Amazon voucher this month. Can't see that they are any worse than a host of other sites that are regularly posted on here and there is always the remote possibility of a huge win; but if there is any doubt about a competition in someone's mind, they really should not enter, another comp will be along in a minute. Don't mind me if I go ahead though....3
