Application submitted June 12th, still haven’t got a satisfactory offer and now it’s holding up exchange.

Brief Summary
application submitted - June 12th
approved subject to valuation - June 22nd
1 month silence for a valuation date, but thank God all the searches we’re carried out
Valuation booked - July 30th
1 week for a offer - 6th August
then 1 week to receive it -14th August
They miss off a middle name - 1 week
Then they forget to re-issue the deed
now radio silence from my solicitor as they don’t want to chase. (Ongoing)

Bit of a rant but goddamn Halifax / my solicitors (removed their name lest they spite me with more inaction) are frustrating. Everyone is passing the buck (example - I can’t call your lender for 48hrs, well it’s been 60hr so just get on with it 😅)

Honestly can’t imagine if I had a chain, I’m “lucky” it’s a new build.

Looking like a months delay because someone at Halifax forgot my middle name. 🤬
If you’re working on my case it is pretty obvious who I am but I’m beyond the point of caring.

My luck - if this is ever solved Halifax will take a two weeks to release the funds 😭

I’m also going with Halifax, submitted application on 26/08, got Valuation booked in for 10/09.
  • Good luck @Carl2510
  • They forgot my middle name now I’m waiting for the third version of my mortgage offer, this time 🤞 with the deed included 😓

I understood when Covid was synonymous with delays, now it seems to be a synonymous with mistakes too lol

I’ve lost 7kg with all the stress 😭

    Every cloud!
  • @Peter74 Indeed, lost all that early lockdown binge eating weight.
Also it came through, by email - result. I'm making sure my children have one middle name max!
Hopefully I can exchange ASAP and complete. Although I hear Halifax can take a week to release the funds.

    Thanks,

it’s a new build so would of thought a Desktop would of been done but clearly not if it’s being done so far after application.
  • @Carl2510 I'm purchasing a new build too and I had a physical valuation. Count your blessings your wait is relatively short!
  • i have had a mortgage offer and im awaiting date to exchange contracts.
if i instruct a direct debit for a loan before the mortgage is completed will it flag up and jeopardize my mortgage offer?
