Mortgage Portability

Hi all,
Just wondered what the consensus was /people’s experiences around mortgages that aren’t portable and whether this will be a hassle especially in terms of repayment charges etc when it comes round to moving property in a few years? We’ve got a pretty good rate but not portable, is it worth looking at other offers to account for this lack of portability?
Thanks

Why is it not portable ?
Have you spoken to the lender ?

Also look at early payment charge, I was foolish enough to lock into a 5 year deal and now with a change in circumstance I am looking at paying a hefty charge until unless I port the mortgage which is not always that easy0
