i havent got a bike to move the insurance too and they wouldnt freeze the insurance. they would partially refund at £22 which isnt a loss i should have to make.
the bike had a faulty bottom bracket and the disc brakes were warped so badly that it kept rubbing against the brake pads.
They never said anything about lock and pump.
"Partially refund at £22" What exactly is the £22?
The solicitor would have told you to return the lock and pump if you had asked. They haven't been paid for, they're not yours.
the £22 is a partial refund

All of that should have been fixable quite readily. I think you did well getting your money back. Hand back the pump and move on. Get something with a decent bottom bracket. Avoid BB30 if noise bothers you.
they couldnt fix it. im not an expert but each time, crunching noises, they agreed. i dont think i did well getting my money back, i think i was absolutely in my right to get my money back.

I think I did once get distressed and lose sleep over a broken bike, but I was 6 at the time. Nothing in the 40+ years since.
Nothing you wrote would suggest you are a stronger person than I

Spend a few minutes on YouTube on the Hambini channel if you want some fun with bottom brackets, while the standard can be bad, it's as much down to frames being made out of tolerance as anything - other combos creak too. I have 2 cannondales, both came with BB30 (or BB30a maybe one of them) and when I changed the groupsets they were converted and I rarely have issues with 2 bikes around 10 years old combined.
I think OP would do well to just be done with it, return (or make an offer for) the parts that came as part of the package that they haven't paid for and move on. Disk brakes warped sounds so ludicrous as to be unbelievable were it not for shops like Halfords - changing the disks and resetting the brakes is maybe 5 minutes work. BB is more work for sure but not insurmountable

You got a refund on the whole voucher - including the pump and lock, so they need to unwind the whole thing. If you don't have another bike why are you so keen to keep the pump and lock?
The cycle scheme is via your employer and you'll be obligated to keep to the rules - you didn't return the whole thing so they could contact your employer to get either compensated for the non-returned goods or the goods back.

Halfords (since you mentioned it) has almost full availability of bikes now, and the rush is done so there are plenty of used ones now, so what's stopping you buying another one and transferring the insurance over?

(what was the bike you returned and what one are you looking at now? I'm curious).
