Hi all. I’ve just had a DM to say I’ve won a contest for a roast for 2 this Sunday at a local(ish) restaurant. (https://www.instagram.com/p/CEW8OTrFkmM/?igshid=1xhr69jrh0qgq) Unfortunately they’re asking for a £10 deposit for drinks! I’ve gone back to the original post & noted that they’ve said they’re awarding it to more than one winner, so I feel like they’ve maybe changed the rules & realised its a good way to get people into the restaurant this weekend? Just wondered what people’s thoughts were.

Personally, since the Instagram post says "completely free of charge" with no mention of a deposit, I'd tell them to stuff their roast (nuts and sultanas are usually tasty) or forget it.
  • As a joke tell them you will bring in your own drinks lol - just to see how they reply.

Give them the deposit then don't buy any drinks and ask for the £10 back at the end of the evening.
